Gemstones and Their Widely Believed Recuperative Properties
Saturday, November 7th, 2009Most people see gemstones purely as ornamental jewellery, such as gemstone beads; that is, jewellery to adorn merely for aesthetic purposes. But gems are also trusted to have several remedial powers; e.g. (depending on the gem) the power to boost self-confidence, concentration, relieve headaches and stress, promote a calm mind, and encourage positivity.
We will look at a small selection of gemstones and their commonly believed remedial powers. A disclaimer before we go any further : The details of this article are based on common beliefs, so there can be no guarantee as to the effectiveness of such gemstones and their supposed medicinal properties.
Amethyst
Amethyst quietens the mind and aids increased harmony and tranquility. It subdues self-destructive propensities and aids healing. Amethyst also bestows wisdom and honesty on the wearer.
Haematite
A mighty gemstone that gives strength and boosts willpower. Useful for balancing the body and spirit. A grounding stone which reduces stress and is believed to alleviate insomnia.
Sodalite
Increases the ability to communicate and to empathize with other people. Effective for the evolution of intuition and spirituality.
The above-mentioned stones are merely a tiny selection of gemstones that are believed to have medicinal powers. The only practical way to find out if these stones can work for you is to put on them if you suffer from a complaint that a stone is claimed to help remedy.
