Feed The Children household agendas emphasize handing out necessary items to needy families. Corporate partners donate surplus food and other supplies and are delivered to pre-approved, independent partner agencies. These agencies will then hand away the provisions through over 50,000 churches, homeless shelters, feeding centers and various organizations located in communities across the country.
In December 2006, Feed the Children—along with the American Bible Society and the Abyssinian Baptist Church—pulled off the biggest food delivery attempt in a single day in New York City. Over 10,000 families were given each a refrigerator full of food earlier than Christmas.
On an international level, Feed The Children programs center on providing medical assistance, emergency relief, food and sustainable growth. Current international efforts have given birth to several outreach efforts and establishments, including the Abandoned Babies and Children (ABC) Center in Nairobi, Kenya, which offers medical treatment and safe refuge for children who have been abandoned or orphaned.
Other international plans funded by FTC consist of medical mission trips and Builders for Children. Builders for Children provides volunteer construction support for undersized regions of Africa, South America, Central America, and Eastern Europe. “Casa del Nio,” is one example of an international project funded by FTC; it is located in Barrio Ingles, La Ceiba, Honduras.
